LTBTQIA+ Affirming Providers: notated with as asterisk *

Hospital-Based OBs and Midwives:
We cannot over-emphasize the importance of your choice in provider! People often want to stick with a gynecologist who they've seen for years, and while that doctor may be a fabulous person and provider in a clinic, it's important for you to assess whether or not they are equipped for and supportive about the type of birth you want to have. Great gynecologists do not always make great obstetricians in the birthing room. These are providers who place a strong emphasis on client-focused care. They make evidence-based recommendations without unnecessary fear-mongering. In our observations and experiences, these providers spend more time with their clients, respect the patient's wishes, and are patient with the labor process.
